Situation is that the client attempted a year end close in GP 2018. It appeared to fail (lack of DISK space, after IT told him it was good to go). Attempted to REVERSE the close that seemed to work. So then IT cleared disk space and the user attempted a second time. This time completed. So now the OPEN year is 2021 and the current history year is 2020. CORRECT
This appeared to work. Until user printed Trial Balance for history year 2020 and sees that all transaction lines are duplicated. Looking at the GL30000 table, after CHECK LINKS and full RECONCILE in the application, show perfect duplication of the JE's for the entire year.
DEX_ROW_ID |
seqnumbr | actindx | actindx | ACTNUMBR_1 | ACTNUMBR_2 | ACTNUMBR_3 | ACTDESCR | HSTYEAR | JRNENTRY | RCTRXSEQ | SOURCDOC |
1667365 | 5000500 | 6215 | 6215 | 800 | 1205 | 0 | Movie Passes | 2020 | 323973 | 1 | GJ |
1667366 | 5001000 | 6789 | 6789 | 800 | 7215 | 150 | COGS SU Clothing-Internal | 2020 | 323973 | 1 | GJ |
1667367 | 5000500 | 6215 | 6215 | 800 | 1205 | 0 | Movie Passes | 2020 | 323973 | 1 | GJ |

So looking at this snip - note the
DEX ROW - one per line - OK
SEQNUMBR - repeats in line 3
JRNENTRY - same for all three lines
QUESTION
Can we create a script to remove the duplicate DEX_ROW lines from the GL30000
