Error while updating custom security role

Hi All,

I have copied the system Administrator and trying remove some Security Role related privileges from this new custom role, but getting the below error when saving it.

System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault]: Privilege a8c424c8-5e57-40d0-bdc9-4b00f65f3e34 is duplicated. (Fault Detail is equal to Exception details:
ErrorCode: 0x8004140F
Message: Privilege a8c424c8-5e57-40d0-bdc9-4b00f65f3e34 is duplicated.
TimeStamp: 2023-06-05T14:27:43.5651635Z).

    Hi,

    I did try the same scenario of modifying the new custom security role with the classic UI and was facing the same error. Then I tried the same using Power Platform Admin center and it was able to modify the custom security roles.

    I would like to suggest you to try the modify new custom security role from Power Platform admin center.

    Below are the steps to navigate to Power Platform admin center and modify the security privileges:

    • Click on Settings.

    • Go to Users + Permissions -> Security Roles.

     

    • Open the Custom Security Role and edit the privileges.

     

    • Once the privilege is modified, Click on Save.

     

    Hope this workaround helps you to resolve the issue.
