AX 2012 AIF and consuming external web service

Hi,

I'm wondering is it possible to call external web service via AIF? I haven't found a way at least. So then another question, is it possible to use existing document services to create a SOAP message(let's say, salesinvoiceservice) and send it to external web service? Any help highly appreciated. I can only find very simple "consume external WS" tutorials.

Yes, you can consume external service. Please take a look at the documentation: Consuming External Web Services. You may want to read through other documentation resources as well instead of just waiting.

I believe you'll have to create a custom outbound adapter if you want AIF to call a web service for you.

    Thanks,

However those examples are usually quite simple but in our case, we have to send SOAP-messages to Web Service interface. I haven't seen any examples how to do that.

Calling a web service = sending a SOAP message. You can't call a web service without sending a message. You usually don't see the details - you call a method on a proxy class and know nothing about SOAP messages, HTTP requests, authentication and other things happening in background.

(There are other, no-SOAP types of web services, but I guess it's not what I mean in the moment.)

If you have a specific problem, you'll have to explain it.

    Hi,

Actually I have exactly the same problem as in this case:

    community.dynamics.com/.../122653.aspx

As you replied there, I need to create a custom outbound AIF adapter.

So this it still a bit unclear for me how to do that. Let's say I'm using an existing document service to create XML and want to send it to Web Service.

    Hi Mikko,

I have the same requirement. Did you manage to get this working. Please let me know as soon as possible?

    Regards
