Comparing the Date Field in CRM workflow

I have created a process to check the follow up date is equal to today's date and send email to targeted receipients. but workflow is not working due to the dates comparison. if i remove the date comparison, it works perfectly.  I really want to use the date comparison as i need to setup the recurring workflow to setup to run everyday. How can i solve this issue.

Follow up Due Date and Today's Date's are same type of fields in opportunity.

After the workflow is executed, the Send email step is not green ticked. and i checked in the email send where there is any email was actually sent. there is none were sent.

    Hi,

    I am not sure if I understand the business requirement correctly. So I am restating what I understood - 

    1. Run a process daily to check on the Opportunity record if the follow-up date is today's date

    2. If it is todays date send an email / update marketing list ...

    You may want to use Microsoft Flow or a Daily Batch Job process to check for the condition on a daily basis.

    If true than trigger the child workflow on the Opportunity record.
