Changing currency on a project contract linked to in progress project

Hi all;

I have a project that has been setup and has been running on an incorrect currency. The customer account for the project contract has been set in Euros and not GDP. I know I can just go in and change the value on the project contract to GDP and open transactions will switch to the new currency as will the contract value. My question is how will projects do any retrospective changes to any posted transactions and invoicing to reflect the new currency? How can I track those changes?

AX2012 R3.

Thanks;

Nigel.

    Hi Nigel,

    Switching the currency on the project contract will only influence your sales project transactions. It won't affect your costs because project costs are always tracked in the accounting currency.

    Modifying the project contract currency won't have a large impact in my opinion except that you have to ensure that you have sales prices setup in GDP. If you have not, then AX will invoice $0 GDP.

    All your historical invoice transactions posted won't be influenced by that change.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Thanks for the reply. Was able to test it in the old UAT client as the project was still set up in there and untouched since we switched to the live environment. Made the change to currency and ran an estimate. Seem to take a hit on CV but it equals the difference in EUR vs Sterling so what I would have expected.
