JOB USAGE JOURNAL MONTHLY POSTING

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Each month I post a job journal to get costs to job level. Each column remains the same except the "Job No." column which I may need to change. When I do change the job number, the Quantity, Unit Cost, Unit Cost ($) Total Cost Job Task No. and Description all get wiped out and I have to re-enter.  Is there something I can do so the other columns remain the same? Thanks

Hope this would help you to increase your efficiency.

If you need, you can further go with some customization, which can be more faster and accurate..

Please verify the answer, if that has helps you.

Yes.  I had created an excel file but where it gets tricky is the job numbers are a string of numbers and characters that have to be exact. My solution will be to bring up the new job numbers on a report and copy and paste on excel file before I copy and paste to journal. Thanks so much for your help.

    Hi MarieH,

You can COPY the data of one of the required JOB Journal in excel file.

Later as per your need, you can only change the required Job No. in excel and again try to PASTE in Job Journal (or Recurring Job Journal). This should certainly work.

This way, your information will not be wiped out and it would be much faster for you to do the entries in the system.

    Hope this helps you.

    Hi Marie,

Rearranging the columns? You can do it by Choose Columns window when you right click the column header. But rearranging doesn't change the behaviour of the code behind.

    Hope it helps.
