Hello,

We use a addon for our warehouse. With this we can see the track and trace code on a website. Yesterday the site gave an error (you are using an old browser).

Since ax always uses IE7 as browser  version we added a fix. 

We added the following registry key to the users computer:

Key Path: Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION
Value type: Ax32.exe
Value data: 11001 (Decimal)

Now we have a problem with sending email from the client (Email templates):

The number of arguments provided is different from the number of arguments accepted by the method.

So probably the client now sends an extra argument with the registry fix. 
Someone knows a fix for this?

    Hi Jaap,

    Can you elaborate what the add-on is doing exactly? Is it opening an additional browser or does it present the data on a form with an internet control within the AX client?

    What exact problem do you have with the email sending? All emails or only emails sent by AX?

    What source did you use to change the registry entry?

    Hi André,

    The problem isn't with the addon anymore (since the registry fix.) but with the normal mail functionality from AX. Like sending an email from the cases module. So all emails from the standard functionality within AX will return the error: The number of arguments provided is different from the number of arguments accepted by the method.

    This only happens with the registry fix. So I guess that the registry fix is creating an extra argument?

    If we delete the registry edit the mail functionality starts working again.

    The addon presents the data on a form with an internet control within the AX client. The website that gives the error they use javascript to check the browser version. (we have no control over this website.) Since AX opens internet explorer inside the client it will standard use internet explorer 7 compatibility mode. With the registry fix you override that version.

    Hi Jaap,

    I would suggest to search a bit further on the internet or other forums. The issue is not directly related to Microsoft Dynamics AX as the normal settings are working. You changed a registry which might be indeed having side-effects. This is more Windows related. Possibly you can contact the vendor of the add-on and/or the track-trace web site for more support here.
