Sales Analytics for Dynamics 365 App for PowerBI

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Dear all,

I am using Dynamics Online V9.1.

I recently started using the Sales Analytics for Dynamics 365 app for PowerBI.

The app is great. However, as I already tweaked a bit my organisation CRM, some of the data I would like the app to analyze is not the one shown in the Dashboard created in PBI.

I was wondering if anyone of you could tell me, if possible, how can I change the data source that feeds the sales analytics Dashboard (PowerBI).

Thanks in advance for your help.

RE: Sales Analytics for Dynamics 365 App for PowerBI

    Hi Vinny Thau,

When I configure the DataSets from Sales Analytics for D365 from PBI, there're only specified Entity data from D365 Sales Module.

I searched from MS Doc and found there're 3 content packs to get data from D365

    • Sales Analytics for Dynamics 365

    • Customer Service Analytics for Dynamics 365

    • Microsoft Dynamics 365 - Social Engagement

While only 'The Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement apps content packs support the default out-of-box entities. '

So I think if there're many OOB Entities you would like to analysis in PBI Dashboard , I would suggest you to directly connect D365 CE without Sales Analytics App.

    Hope the above would help.

    Best Regards

    Johnny
