I am failing to post journal lines in NAV 2009. The error message reads 'Maximum string length is 50'. I have gone on to reduce the description on all the journal lines to 40 characters still the error pops up. I went on to increase the description field size in the following tables. Item jnl line, item ledger entry, warehouse entry, still the same error pops up. Pleaes assist what could be the solution?

Randomly changing field sizes in Nav is not recommended. If you change it you will have to change it everywhere it is used else you will get error messages for years to come.

Remember it's not just those names - it's all the variables that use that field too.. tables, reports, codeunits, etc.

Please activate the debugger (if can) and check

it will point you to exact position where you are getting error.
