Hi all,

In a previous thread we discussed about the essential data to be migrated in order to go Live.

Which are:  a) AR AP open orders, b) Inventory open balances, C)production Orders , d) GL open balances

With the help of DIXF I have made already and tested the migration of  AR & AP orders, inventory balances, now I am working on the Open production orders.

the thing now is that I dont see any pre built-in feature for migrating productions in ax2012. almost no info on the web.

I would like if anyone has made it before. to give me a little guidance.

your help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks Ludwig,

The best way is to let the new productions be created in the new enviroment (Ax2012) and the already created ones be closed in the old one. So that would be good also for training the people/users along the way..

    thanks a lot

    Hi Nestor,

If No 2 refers to ledger balances, then No 2 must be moved to the end of your sequence.

That's the last thing that we usually transfer.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

thanks a lot  for your reply,

there is five legal entities in the same organization group that has to be migrated. I am thinking on starting and testing the smallest one. which has only few open productions. I could even import them even manually without problem. my question is now the following because is important for me to be sure.

Whats the order to be imported?

    1. first the Inventory counting
    2. second the Open balances
    3. the open production
    4. and last open AP+AR?

How do I get the balances to fit when doing the inventory . because posting a counting journal will automatycally affect the trial balance.

    Hi Nestor C.,

Migrating production orders can be quite complex.

How many open production order do you have (a couple of them or thousands)?

Is there any chance that you could complete them in your old system?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Michal,

Yes I had read that. But won't help to much with the actual migration process, and I know poblably so many customizations to make in order to get it migrated automatycally.
