Add Security privilege to a user

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi all,

i want to add a security privilege to a role so that any user assigned that role can only view, create and modify purchase order, but cannot delete it once created.

Thanks

Additionally add EPPurchTableInfoView privilege to your role to fix that error.

    Hi,

Create your role with using PurchTableDetailsMaintain privilege as Nikolaos mentioned. After that use overwrite permissions functionality to restrict delete permission for PurchTable and PurchLine.

To do this go to System administration > Security > Security roles. Open and select your role and click overwrite permissions button on the actionpane. Select Tables/Fields node. And change the access level property for PurchTable and PurchLine tables.

    Best regards,

    Sefa.

I got an error that you didn't have permission to create a purchase order.

Do you get some error message? Or you don't see a button for creating an order? Please check that action menu item PurchCreateOrder is included in the privilege.

There is no out of the box privilege that does that.

But you could copy privilege PurchTableDetailsMaintain, and go through all the entry points. On all entry points where AccessLevel is Delete, change it to Correct.

Might not work 100% but at least it will take you close.
