Fields "ABC Code" and DUNS-Number of Vendors

Hi all,

I have a question about these 2 fields: ABC Code and DUNS Number (in Vendors form). What are they used for and for what legal entities would they be relevant?

I have not seen yet, that these fields are used in German legal Entity.

Thanks a lot!

Regards,

Jolyon

    Hi Jolyon,

The DUNS number is a unique identifier for an organization provided by Dun & Bradstreet. It is quite common in the USA, but can also be used in e.g. European countries. There is an option for enabling duplicate check on this number.

The ABC code can be used to categorize your vendors in importance. There is no real functionality dependent on this field.

    Hi Jolyon,

Is there anything left open here?

If not, then it would be great if you could verify the answer and thereby help other AX users who have the same question.

    Thanks,

    Ludwig

Can the ABC Code be used for filtering vendors anywhere?

    Hi aedvinz,

You can filter by ABC Code.

Simply personalize the ABC Code field on the vendor list page and by making use of the Grid-Filter (CTRL+G) you can filter on that field.

    Best regards,

    Hey Ludwig

Seems like a good solution but I can't find the ABC Code as an available field to add. Is it called something in the field list? I'm on AX7.

    Hi Andreas,

    In Ax2012 I could add the field but in D365 I can't :-(

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
