Hi All,
Have observed one scenario where posting a purchase order receipt doesn't add any cost on Investment type project. I know that there are two parameters available in the project parameters form - 'create item requirement' and 'item consumption', If I enable both of them and the costs will be posted when the PO receipt is posted. The same is happening with Time and Material project but on posting PO reveipt on investment project, system doesn't load the cost and I see the item cost only after posting purchase invoice. Is this by design?
Regards,
Nakul
Good morning Nakul,
Are you working on the very latest D365FO version?
If so, can you replicate the issue in a different demo/test environment?
In case you answered both questions with yes then I would suggest opening a support case with MS.
I already had a look at LCS but did not find a recent hotfix that seems to apply; that's why I would suspect that this behavior might potentially be caused by a bug.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi Nakul,
Thank you for using Dynamics 365 Finance Communities.
For Investment projects based on my testing, the cost is posted during the posting of the invoice instead of the receipt.
For more information on the costs for Investment projects, please refer to the article link below:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/finance/project-management/overview-project-management-accounting
I also recommend logging a support ticket if your results are not consistent.
