Hi,
I was working on creating some new items in D365 Fin&Ops, and I found out that when I created new item, the date it showed was 5/13/2020 whereas i looked in the database, it showed me 5/14/2020 due to which when I exported data, it didn't show up.Initially I recognized that this could be because of time zone difference. My legal entity time zone is set to Hawaii while system time zone is Coordinated Universal Time.
Can anyone help me in this regard? Any explanation could be helpful.
Regards,Ali
Hi Ali,
It is indeed related to a time zone offset. If you need the date presented in your timezone, you can use the Dynamics 365 client or you have to add logic to calculate the date/time in the Hawaii time zone.
Hi Arnaud,
Is there anyway I can know that legal entity time zone is different than machine time? Because mostly I'm accessing the machine and I don't have the privilege to check its timezone.
Regards,
Ali
Hello Ali,
I would recommend you to check following posts:
As you find - system always stores DateTimes fields in UTC time to the SQL server, and info about time zone is stored in the *TZID field.
Thank you Michal, I'll surely look into these.
