Hi All,

I am facing an issue during - 'Release to Warehouse' functionality on a SO load.

The Error in work creation history log says - Location directive 'SO Pick' Failed and Item %1 allocation failed.

I checked the following set up:

1. Warehouse management process is enabled for the warehouse i am using in the SO.

2. Both the SO header and lines have the same Warehouse, Site detail

4. The Location directive set up for SO pick is containing: 1. Lines with range (From Qty: 1.00 and To Qty: 9999,999 ) and the Location directive Action line Query is set up to pick the item with a filter on the location profile

4. There is sufficient item inventory in one location with the same location profile

I am unable to figure out the cause of this error. Can I get some help?

Ventsislav Tsankov solution worked for me.

We had two waves stuck in processing which I assume created the records in the WHSTmpWorkLine table. Deleting the records allowed us to create the work. It did not stop the wave from processing. Not sure how to stop it or if it is causing other issues.

I have the same issue. Tried to delete record on WHSTmpWorkLine but still prompt than error Item% allocation failed. Anyone know the solution?

Hi, All

Problem solved. There were not deleted lines in WHSTmpWorkLine. After creating the works, AX should delete this table, but for unknown reason the records were not deleted for 2 waves. I deleted them manually and now everything's fine.

Hi, All

Work templates are correct. As you know, work template is based on Temporary work transaction table. From that table I am using Location zones to build the filter. As the location allocation fails, there is no location (therefore no zone) in the temporary work transaction. That is why the work template fails.

Actually, I have one template, which should be valid against any transaction and it always succeeds - that is because I always want work created. That is why I have work, but no picking locations in it

Fatih, what do you mean by staging, I am not getting it, sorry. The goods should be delivered to packing station, then packed and delivered to final shipping location.

I don't know which settings to show you. For me, directives are OK. Locations are not blocked, item status is not blocked, quantity is reserved correctly... what else should be the culprit?

Hello Ventsislav,

Based on the history log, it looks like your work template is failing. Can you check your work templates to ensure that you are not excluding the item or customer in the query?

Hi,
Do you use staging? Can it be related to it?
There must be some place that the setup is not matching with your requirement.

Allocation can be failed for some items and it might pass for others. In such a case, you will end up missing some merchandise in your pick list that exists in loadlines of your ShipmentID. This also shows up as a difference between Qty and WorkCreatedQty fields in your loadlines.

However, missing quantities or not, to have a work created, at least one item should pass the location directive setups and a valid work template must be found.

Can you check your work templates' queries, too? Which setups including all, you think that should be valid and create the work, if you can share all steps we can have a better view to investigate.

I think everything is OK with the directive setup.

I have the split quantity ticked. I have unit restriction, but it is the same unit in ?n-hand. The full quantity is on the same location. The location is not LP controlled

I most important - I have a message, that the location directive have succedded

Hi,

Can you share your sales line, on-hand inventory and location directives setup's screenshots?

Allocation failed means there is a problem in location directive setups.

Is the whole quantity of salesline available in a single location?

If not, have you ticked "Allow split" checkbox in location directive line? (Middle one)

Hi, All

I have a similar problem. In this environment, waves are manually processed. I have also made setups, that I always get works created. Several works are created without location for the pick line, so I checked the work creation history log and see the error "Item %1 allocation failed" in it.

It is very strange, because 3 different location directives succeed, but AX cannot find the location. Work templates also failed, except the last one, which has no criteria setup.

I am pretty sure everything is fine with the setups, because this customer is live from 2015. I double checked everything again - yes, it seems OK.

The same items are picked from the same locations recently (last two days). Other items are picked form the same locations recently, including today. So, nothing should be wrong with the items and witj the locations.

Then what else could be wrong?
