Workflow for timesheet approval

(0) ShareShare

We have a condition in the timesheet approval workflow that two users should approve. First the project manager, and then the manager. Sometimes the project manager and the manager is the same user. This implies that this user must approve twice, which is not preferable.

Is it possible to add a condition that auto-approves the second approval if the project manager and manager is the same user? If so, how?
I have the same question (0)

I dont think so this is possible to auto approve, because automatic action works based on the query available in the form based on the fields available, in your case there is no fields to capture the same.

You need to have two time approval and that is the only option in standard unless you do some customization, small one.

    Hello Gaute,

You can use the automatic action to auto approve/Reject based on a condition.

    Hi,
You can add a condition that auto-approves the second approval if the project manager and manager are the same user in the workflow. You can use a "Condition" action to check if the project manager and manager are the same user. If they are the same user, then you can configure the workflow to automatically approve the second approval. This way, you can avoid the situation where the same user has to approve twice.
Or you can customize a new role, like Project Manager & Manager, and then assign this role to a user, so that only that role is needed to approve, avoiding the problem of the same user must approve twice.
    Best regards,
    Kevin

I am aware of the automatic actions condition, but what do the conditions have to look like?

This must work for all users where the project manager and manager is the same person, so I cannot specify a specific user ID in these fields.
