Hi everyone,
I'm trying to connect a windows client to a remote server, and I'm finding issues. It's my frist time I'm not using clickOnce, so any help will be really appreciated.
The instance in the server is configured like this:
The publi IP for the server is XX.XX.XX.XX
I'm trying to connect from the vlient to this direction:
XX.XX.XX.XX:7046/DynamicsNAV110
And I see this error:
"Cannot find any server in "net.tcp://......" The URL is incorrect or the server os not available actually"
Am I trying correctly? Have I forgot any configuration?
Thnak you very much
Hi jgaztanaga,
Some suggestions for you:
- Check time of client machine and server machine, it should not be different than 5 minutes.
- Make sure client works fine on server machine (run client directly on server).
- Check firewall, port forwarding and antivirus program, make sure client (on client machine) can reach server.
- If you Implement NAV user/password, please refer to our document mibuso.com/.../implement-security-certificates-nav-2013
Outside the network? Are you using an RDP connection? Do you need a specific VPN Client for access?
Yes, I'm using a correct user. This user is connecting fromthe different clients installed in the network, the problem comes when I try to conenct from outside the network.
The issue that it's driving me mad, as I say, is that the user is authenticated in teh server, but the connection cannot be established....
OK are you using the correct "Client Settings" for the user? Just to make sure copy the "Client Settings" from a working user and replace it.
Hello,
'Service' is not in the string, I am connecting using "X.XXX.XX.XX:8046/DynamicsNAV110". I'm using 8046 because of the redirection of the ports.
I've just realized of one thing that it's really driving me crazy. I've noticed that when I introduce a correct NAV user/password, it is validating against the server, because I can see it in the server's event viewer. But the connection can't be established. In the other hand, if I introduce an invalid user/password, I get the invalid user error.
So, it seems that I'm reaching correctly the server, but the client isn't abble to open a connection... Really strange
Can you remove the "/Service" from the string and try again?
Hi Alfredo,
The devices that are connected to this instance, are all in the same network, so they are connecting with "SRV-DC:7046/DynamicsNAV110", where SRV-DC is the name of the server
You say it has been working since last year. Do you have other devices connecting to this NAV Instance? Have you looked their local NAV clients to see / emulate the configuration?
Hi Aditi,
Yes, the instance is running, it is a installation that is working since a year
Ensure that the services for NAV is running.
