Using Excel online to edit data in Dynamics 365

Hi Folks,

When I use the Excel online option to edit data in Dynamics 365 I see an import source file after the process is complete.  This tells me how many successful actions were completed and how many failures there were.  However, I noticed that after updating only 1 contact record using this method the import source file told me that I had over 2800 successful results and 17 failures.  What is the connection between all of these results and the 1 record that I updated?  Are there other areas/records in the database that are being affected somehow?

    In Excel Online when we edit/Update any specific record then it will only effect on that record. So, basically it won’t make any changes to other records.

    When excel import failed, there is no change for the records.

    If you need to know the error details, I recommend you to raise a support ticket for further investigation.

    Thank you Sam!  That seems reasonable.  Perhaps it is triggering some other process?  It seems strange that it would mention so many other results.  When I check the audit history on the items that is says have been successfully updated there are no changes logged.  Strange!
