How much time should a Sandbox reset take?

When I do a reset of my Dynamics 365 Online Ver. 9.0 Sandbox instance the dialog message says "We are currently setting up your instance. This may take a few minutes."

After waiting an hour or so I submitted a support ticket and the support rep responded

"Checking your org from my end, it looks like the instance is still in the process of resetting. Resets take anywhere from 18-36 hours depending on the amount of data in your instance that needs to be reset. This is because on the backend the system must remove dependencies between all existing solutions so that when the reset completes the instance does not break any CMR functionality."

When I responded back that this was just a reset and so it should be just copying over a default installation and not re-llinking records he responded

"Even on an instance with no data, resets take a minimum of 12 hours. I will try to pass this to the developers, but it’s very likely they will tell us to wait."

Is that correct? It seems to me that doing a reset should take a few minutes like the dialog says, not anywhere from 12-36 hours.

Thanks!

    Hi,

I have done reset couple of times and can say for sure that it never took me more than an hour. Infact in the official video, it took only few minutes and in the message also it says few minutes so I am pretty sure that it doesn't take 12 hours minimum. www.youtube.com/watch;feature=youtu.be

Sometimes, the portals gives you false message so try logging out and login again in a different browser.

    Hope this helps.
