Hi,

I have 2 questions regarding Field Service

1- How to order the quantity in field service for out of stock product, I have seen there is no option for vendor creation in Inventory tab so that i can choose relevant vendor for product purchasing Please suggest me the best solution for this?

2- How to raise purchase requisition in field service, if inventory is shown as out of stock on the Work Order (Relevant Work order -> Product -> New Work Order Product) The product which I need to fix the problem on customer asset. Any suggestion Please?

Thanks & Regards

Vendors in Field Service are set as 'Accounts'

In the Product Inventory record, there is a 'Reorder Point' field which can be set to indicate when a purchase order needs to be created. However there is no out of the box automation for this, you will need to create the purchase order manually or through automation.

You could create a Power Automate Flow to create a Purchase Order and Purchase Order Product when the 'Reorder Point' = Quantity 'Available' on the Product Inventory?

    Hi Thomas,

    Thanks for your response.

Without automation will it be possible for the technician to create purchase order from mobile app? if yes then how it will execute through mobile app because in mobile app we have minimal access Please help me out of this.

1 more last thing that i want to ask you, I have create the work order and used some inventory parts when i go to my inventory then it will reduce the quantity and shows the exact quantity because it has been used on customer asset but when i want to know the inventory status from mobile app it shows me the Quantity on Hand = None.

    why ?

    Thanks & Regards

Yes you can give mobile users access to create purchase orders. You will just need to ensure that they have permissions to create and write purchase orders and purchase order products, you will also need to surface the purchase orders on the mobile app as well so they can create them.

In Field Service Settings in the 'Purchase' Tab there is a field called 'Use of Products Out of Stock', setting this field to 'Restrict' will stop users from using inventory parts if there is not enough available quantity on hand in that particular warehouse you are using the part from. You can turn this feature off if you want to.
