3PL Camelot Software

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi. I am trying to find out more about EDI and howit is being used in NAV with a third party software called 3PL Cammelot Software. I know EDI and I have mapped in other software but this is the first time I am working with NAV and this 3rd party software. IF there is anybody out there that has some documentation on how to do mapping with NAV and 3PL Camelot software, I will be greatly appreciated.

One issue that I am facing right now, is the size of the N301 and N302 segments. It seems that the information being sent exceeds the number of characters that either NAV can handle or the "map" can accept.

I have found a place in NAV under the EDI\Trade Partner. The element is telling me that is capable of handling 55 character. If this is true, then the NAV field is the issue. I can't really tell the client to change the address so the questions is, how do I increase the field in NAV to accept more characters?

Please advise

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Well,  see, this is the kind of thing I am talking about. I have an EDI file that I was able to import into NAV with no errors, I made a change to the map or document in NAV to add an element and change another one within the same segment, after that, I try to import the same file (I first changed the W05-Shipping Order Identification) and that is when I get the error.

Is there any logs within the application that can help me see where the error is?

There were some filed we received from a client that were producing the same error. We told the client to revise and resend the files and the problem went away.

So It is hard to believe this is something related to permissions or with wrong paths.

    Thanks

This kind of errors appears to be related to permissions. Try to modify the path for exporting or give the appropiate permissions to that folder (by default "c:\program files" is secured).

    Good luck!

Hi Miguel, maybe I just don't know the right question to ask.

As I said, before, I am new in MS NAV and I need to make some urgent changes to an existing "map" (a 940 map) and I just not sure how it works.

Don't give me wrong, I am experienced in EDI mapping with other software but this is the first time with NAV (or whatever the third party is). Anyhow, I just need to know the basic on how NAV works with EDI or if there is some sort of documentation.

I was able to find the document (940) and drill in all the way to the segment, made some changes (added two elements to a segment) and now the EDI file would not import.

I can't be able to find a log or something that will tell me what went wrong.

The error that I am getting does not really tells me anything:

"The operating system cannot find the drive and directory specified for the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\CSIDE Client\.   Please check that the drive, directory and file names are correct."

I may be asking too much of you, but I would really appreciate any insight, documentation, or any help you can provide. Going directly to the 3rd party is not an option.

    thank you

Sorry fflores, you should contact your partner... You cannot modify a table without the appropiate development license.

    Good luck!
