SETUP TIPS for Business Central - Tip 1
There are hundreds of setup fields in Business Central that will impact productivity and business process flow. Setting these parameters is very much a matter of preference.
In this post series we're going to explore many of the setup parameters, and for this we're focusing mainly on the US version, though many fields are the same in other localizations.
When looking at how much or how little these settings are being used, we do think customers and partners (and yours truly ) could do with a recap, so lets go through some of the interesting fields and talk about what it can do for your business. Some partners out there will know many of these by heart. But I hope that some of you will learn something. Not least the Microsoft customers among you.
Feel free to discuss in the comments, and add if I am missing crucial points.

Here is setup tip no. 1??
The Allow Posting From and Allow Posting To fields provide a useful way of restricting posting, except for the allowed window. This could be used after closing an accounting period so no further posting is done. When combined with the same setting on the User Setup page, the ability to post anything can be finetuned to the user level, allowing for example only accountants to post in certain periods. This can also be useful in go-live situations where users may have access to the system but only certain people are allowed to post (i.e. opening balances).
What are you using it for?
