Hi,
Does anyone know why it this field is mandatory in investment projects? Is it just because it is needed for fixe-priced projects that it defaults as mandatory for the rest of the project types or does it have a purpose within investment projects?

Hi,
It's mandatory because you have to run an estimate if you want to shift the costs of the investment project to a fixed asset (or another project).
This requires a calculation and element that does and supports this calculation.
For that reason, you need the cost template; in a nutshell for the calculation of the estimate.
