Edit payment batch in GP, hangs

Hi,

Has anyone encountered GP hanging when they try to use the Edit Payment Batch?

After creating or select the batch id, when the user tabs off, GP just hangs.

They have very few vendors..

I tried a lot of things ,and lastly - to drop and recreate the PM10300, issue persists.

I checked for docs with remaining amount, and built a batch using build batch, then opened the edit payment window, and it opened.

Closed all windows, tried to delete the check batch, and it hangs.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

Check your Dynamics.set file to see if you have the "payment document management' module installed.  This is a module used primarily in Eastern Europe and should not be installed on a U.S. installation.   It can cause hanging in GP in sales/purchasing windows related to payments, or even when voiding payments.  So check to see if you have this installed, and if you are not using it, uninstall it and see if you get better performance then.

    Hi,

Hanging in GP can sometimes be a consequence of blocking in SQL. The next thing I'd try is creating a SQL trace or using the free SQL community tool sp_whoisactive (http://whoisactive.com/ ) to monitor SQL activity when the hanging is occurring. Maybe this will highlight an SQL session causing blocking and you can investigate from there. Even if its not SQL blocking sometimes seeing the SQL processes running before and during the issue can help pinpoint the problem as you can see the SQL tables involved. (i.e. it may highlight a 3rd party table or something)

    I hope this helps

    Thanks

    Gavin
