what is the use of resolution in resolving case? when case is resolved automatically through workflow what will be the resolution??

To set the status as problem solved (on resolution of customer query) need to resolve the case. closure activity will get create with resolution remarks and billing details (if applicable). while case closed automatically also closure activity will get created.

when you close the case through workflow. subject of the case will be resolution remarks. Please find the attached snapshot

In general, when a case is resolved manually by clicking on 'resolve' button; user is asked to fill resolution. This is resolution is nothing but a summary/one liner of 'how you resolved the case?'. for e.g. if ur workflows are not working and you create a case for that in crm and you find out a solution that async services are not started on your server then the resolution would be 'restarted async services'. so its nothing but a one line for anyone who reads and checks how you resolved your case, what actually helped you to resolve the case.
From your other posts i get to know that your case is getting closed automatically...which menas users will not be asked to fill it and the system will fill it on their behalf. This resolution would be same as your 'case title'.
