Master Scheduling removes planned orders created through the net requirements screen.

Hi all,

Having an issue with running master planning. Here's the scenario:

I have a sales order for item 07271 for 20 Units and there is are 2 in stock at the main warehouse on account of a transfer from another warehouse. If I update the master plan (static or dynamic) from the net requirements screen of the item, the planned purchase orders are created to satisfy the demand of 20 as well as increasing the inventory up to the max of 50 units.

Question #1: How do I adjust this to create one order for 68 units rather than 2 separate purchase orders?

If I then go to master planning > planned orders I see the orders listed above created and waiting to be firmed.

Question #2: As soon as I run master scheduling to take into account all demand (not just for item 07271), all planned orders are removed from the planned order screen. I've checked that filters are removed from the form etc... But I'm totally stuck on why the demand would be seen without issue from the net requirements but then not picked up when using master scheduling.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Simon

[tag:Question] 1: Your maximum setting is 50 - remove it to get one order. Why is your maximum 50 would be my question? :-)

[tag:Question] 2: Can you post the Net Requirements after the first run. The full run deletes all planned orders, that is the starting point, but it then regenerates them, there can be differences because screens like the net requirements run a different form of planning because by the nature of them they are filtered. I am not sure why you would have a negative days of 2 and to be honest I hate the Min/Max coverage group, why are you using it? It is supposed to be used only for minimum space, so you can only ever hold 50, but then it really struggles if you need more. Have you tried it simply using Period and having your minimum as 50 - you dont want a maximum, you have already said that in wanting one order for 68 :-)
