Filter emails on timeline control by sender

Hello everyone,

A customer of mine had an honestly pretty reasonable request today, however I can't seem to find anyone who has done it before - and there is no default solution to my knowledge.

On their opportunities, their agents run email communication with 2 people.
1. A customer service agent from where they get the opportunity.
2. The customer.

Therefore they wanted 2 seperate timeline controls, showing only emails, filtered on sender.
This will be a much better experience than having the 2 communication tracks mixed into 1 timeline control as standard.
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,
You can show two timeline control and make it only show emails.
    --Disable notes/posts and other activities.
But we can't filter it with email sender.
--Currently, we can filter records based these attributes.

I hope you can mark my answer verified if it answer your question! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
    Regards,
    Leah

    Hi,

Unfortunately, I'm afraid this is not possible.
Although the timeline can be configured to only display email records.

However, the filtering options in the timeline are limited to the following ones and cannot be customized.

    Best Regards,
    Dengliang Li

Hi, thank you for your response @Leah Ju, but this is not exactly helpful.

I know it is not supported by standard. I'm looking for a non-standard solution.

If anyone has tried doing this, please let me know.

    Hi,
There really isn't a good way to do it currently.
If you do need to filter email senders in the timeline control, you can create a new idea through the below URL, then ask your colleagues to raise up the votes.
     Ideas (dynamics.com)
Our product team has direct visibility of these ideas and they will implement it on the basis of the highest number of votes received.
    As one workaround:
Perhaps you could create a sub-grid that points to the email, and filter sender of this view that selected in the sub-grid.
