Extra blank spaces are added in the body of an email template in Microsoft Unified Service Desk

Hi,

I am facing an issue in Microsoft Unified Service Desk(USD). In USD, a description of an email is populated from the email template created in the CRM web.

The email template formatting seems perfect in CRM web, but extra blank spaces are added to the same templated in the description box which is disturbing the formatting.

The blank spaces are added at the start, middle of the text and at the bottom as well

Kindly help me out with the solution.

Please find the screenshots for reference.

    Hi Prerna,

Does this happen only with this email template or all templates?

Does this happen with the same template in different emails?

Does it happen to individual users or to all users?

    Regards,

    Leah Ju

    Hi Leah,

This happens for all templates and for all the users.

So, it's really hard to see when you are editing the text in the templates, but the easiest way I can explain it is pressing 'enter' will add paragraph spacing. Pressing Shift + Enter adds a single line.

I tend to just remove all line spacing, then add them back pressing 'Shift + Enter' in the Template editor.

You can also write up the template in Word and use the Paragraph Marks/hidden formatting symbols as a guide to where you'll end up with the extra spaces, but be aware that copying and pasting formatted text from Word can lead to other formatting issues.
