How to make changes to PSTL Account Modifier after validation

Hi All - I ran PSTL Account Modifier today at a client and found some inconsistent results so I made the changes to the import file and clicked Validate again and it is now showing that all my original accounts are invalid.  I see that there is an Invalid Accounts temp table which is likely inaccessible via sql.  The manual says to view any changes in the TACHANGE table then change the underlying spreadsheet and import again.  The invalid accounts, which originally there were none, is blocking the ability to make adjustments.  I am performing this in a test company so I am simply restoring the company to refresh the data and attempting the import again.  The versions of GP and PSTL are lining up correctly.

Shouldn't the re-import of the spreadsheet allow for changes or am I doing something procedurally incorrect?  Is there a way to delete the temp staging table? Also can anyone point me to uninstall instructions as this install has also caused some issues for users.

Thanks,

Mike

    1.  Did you check and make sure that you did not actually run the table.  You may have hit validate and modify.  Check and make sure that those accounts still exist, that you haven't already changed them. It sounds like that is your issue.

You should not have to uninstall, this is a Great Plains tool that sits in the background and should not be interferring with any of the users.  And the only one who can run this is 'sa' and no users should be in your Production system when you are running this.  The only issue you may be having is if you didn't register it yet or include the new code and again, you have to be 'sa' to go in and accept the new code and then run to create the tables and enter in the registration keys.

By the way, you should be backintg up Dynamics and the Company when you run this.  See if you can get a copy of Dynamics and also overwrite that and all the tables.  Is the TACHANGE table is sitting in DYNAMICS?

Thanks for your reply Susan - I am sure I hit modify but what was puzzling is that the accounts did not change and remained in the db.  I just tried this in Fabrikam, got the same results (invalid accounts) BUT ran check links on the account master and the accounts did change so that seems to be the key.  I am thinking that I should click Validate the next time I import, run select on TACHANGE which is in the company db, note the changes, then import again before clicking on Modify, is that correct?

Yes, you are supposed to run VALIDATE first and go to the errors, and then MODIFY.  And you have to run checklinks to have it go through out the system.  As far as I recall it changes it in one of the tables and then once you run checklinks it goes through out the rest of your tables.
