Item available stock issue

hi

i have a finished product (item we will sell) that is showing me 3960 In stock but only 552 available due to reservations

we have checked everywhere ( transactions manage stock) but i can see nothing that is reserving this item

it is also strange that i can put a stock transfer on for this item with auto reservation, and it does not give me an error that there is insufficient stock until i go to ship the transfer, it then tells me i dont have enough stock

i am worried that maybe some one has uploaded dodgy data or changed the item code as this is a new implementation

anyone any ideas where to look or what to look at?

mal

Hi Raff, Have you checked any transactions of this item in other companies? Ludwig

Suggestion would be to take a DB back up on to some other test environment and run database consistency check and inventsum rebuild process

It is difficult to judge what has caused this issue and sometimes we see inconsistencies in the transactions - for example on order inventory without the transaction.

In order to remove this inconsistencies, there is a in built utility under the System administration =>  Periodic => Database => Consistency check.

Ideally it takes longer time to get completed but you can just filter to run it for Inventory management module only.

Please have a look at this image as well : screencast.com/.../wySY6F27fn

Look at the inventory status and look for the issue status "Reserved Physical" on a filter. Then look at reserved orders (but should not be the case as you have the physical inventory). Then look at picked (out of interest). What do you have in relation to transactions with those statuses?

    Dear Raff,

Good to know that you were able to proceed little further.

If you have batch controlled product, you can use the batch tracing functionality to trace the blocking transactions for a particular batch or alternatively you need to review the all product transactions to see the possible transactions which may block the inventory from getting transferred.

    List of possible transactions includes

    - open quarantine or quality order

    - manually created inventory blocking transactions

    - batch disposition code

In addition inventory must be available physically in order to transfer it so any pending ordered inventory should be received first before they can actually be transferred.

    I hope this helps.

it seems the transfer got corrupt some how

even when i deleted the problem line from the transfer, i could not ship the transfer and ax continued to complain about line 2! - which was now deleted??

any how, i setup a new transfer for the items and they have shipped ok

but we seem to have lots of reservation issues of the back of cancelled/deleted transfers!

    Dear Raff,

Can you kindly resolve this question as 'verified' if you do not need further input or help so that other members know it?

    Regards
