Hello,
We just recently switched to HR & Payroll within Microsoft Dynamics GP. We have always printed our 4-Up W-2's on plain paper (perforated with instructions on back) - the software would automatically print the boxes and descriptions. It appears that in GP payroll we can only print the boxes using '1 Wide - Forms with Box'. Is that truly the case? If that is our only option - can we only print 'Copy 1-For State, City, or Local Tax Department'? What about an Employee copy?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joel Gritter
Hello,
Starting in GP 2016 R2 we added the ability to print W-2s with lines and you are correct it is only for the 1-Wide Forms with Box for Copy 1.
There is pre-printed W-2 stock with the lines already on it if you want to use the 4-Up W-2s like you have in the past or other forms, and the IRS has copies of the form available for you to download or scan as well with the lines.
Microsoft Business Checks sells these, but I am sure there are many other places as well. www.microsoftbusinesschecks.com/
With this being your first year of doing this process within Microsoft Dynamics GP, you may have to adjust your settings to match align your printer so that it is ready to go for all future years.

Here are also some tips and tricks for W-2 and EFW2.
