Hyper-V virtual machine & D365 issues

Hi,

I have a problem with D365 to run on Hyper-V Virtual Machine.

I have downloaded a virtual hard disk (VHD) from LCS Shared Asset. I had no problems installing and connecting to the virtual machine.

I rely on this post:

https://community.dynamics.com/ax/b/axinthefield/posts/how-to-download-a-dynamics-365-finance-and-operations-onebox-virtual-machine

1. The first problem is the inability to start the DynamicsAxBatch service. I tried to do this both from the command prompt and from the Services window.

I also disabled the maintenance mode. This has no effect..

2. The second problem is that I cannot assign permissions using AdminUserProvisioning.

The weird thing is, I can't get D365 to work

Am I doing something wrong?

Have you checked and performed the steps in this link?

    Hello Gunjan,

Thanks a lot! It works for me :)

Are there any services that are unnessesary and can be disabled to optimize the machine's RAM requirements?

    Hi Shooowtek,

We normally shut down the "Management Reporter 2012 Process Service" on developer VMs since we don't use Management reporter. You can check if that helps you optimize the RAM requirements.

    Dear Gunjan,

Thank you for your suggestion, but this service is already disabled by default in my environment.

Are there any other services that I can disable?

    Thanks.

    Hello colleagues,

I have one more question regarding VM and Hyper-V. Is it possible to create a "Generation 2" of VM on a VDH downloaded from LCS (FinandOps10.0.24)?

    Hi Shooowtek,

Gen 2 VMs support only VHDX format. What we can download from LCS is VHD,. So, I don't think we can create Gen 2 VMs.
