Dynamics 365 Talent with CNAME URL and SSL

We have a Dynamics HR instance that we wish to create a 'simple' URL for, e.g. hr.company.com which will redirect to our dynamics instance self service.

We have created a CNAME entry at the value of hr.company.com to point to aos-rts-sf-xxxxxxxxx-prod-northeurope.hr.talent.dynamics.com, however, we have two challenges.

  1. SSL Certificate error, it seems that we would need to assign a certificate to the portal to match the name of the CNAME URL, I cannot seem to find where to do this or if it's actually possible.
  2. Even when I view the certificate warning and accept to continue to the website, I get a 404 page not found error.

Anyone has any insights on firstly if it is possible to have a custom domain URL point to the Dynamics HR instance and if possible any articles pointing to where to set the SSL certificate.

    Hi Adrian,

    Your question is in fact not directly related to Dynamics 365 Human Resources. Probably you can ask a question to your host provider if it is possible.

    I can imagine that the URL is hard to remember. It is indeed quite long. As alternative users can create favorites. With the new Edge browser, you can also install a website as Windows app. This might be an alternative. You can read more about the last option here: dynamicspedia.com/.../
