Connect to AX Business Connector using a claims user

Hi,

does any body know how to connect (logon) to AX using the businnes connector and using users that are registered within AX as claims users. I believe SharePoint (Enterprise Portal) does it, and it also uses the business connector, so how can we do this in custom code. I tried it by using the claimstowindowstoken service and then impersonate the claims users but I get logonfailed. Same with proxy credentials and logonas (ClaimsUser).

Any help much appreciated!

Sander

If the claims user is created in AX, can't you just provide that domain and user as network credentials for LogonAs through BC?

    Hi Vilmos,

Thank you for your help. Indeed this works. Only thing to keep in mind that the Logon user this is passed as first parameter need to be the Alias which in turn is set in AX. In my case the userid, user and alias have different content.

Also the credential under which the apppool runs need to be set as a Business Connector proxy user.

The login session window shows that 'the alias' is logged in. Now I assume all handling within AX is done within the context of the alias user. I need to validate this..

Thanx again. You set me on the right track.

Yes, your setup mentioned above is correct. The proxy user establishes the connection, then it impersonates the account and receives the security rights it has through the AX roles.
