Unable to save any Projects/ All standard objects are throwing error during compilation in AX 2012

Hello Everyone,

This is Anant here. I am getting a very strange and painful error.

Every time I am opening any customized projects(including customizations on standard objects like: purchTable, CustTable etc.), The title on the projects are "Unable to save project file".

Even while compiling same project, I am getting many errors which are not digestible. mostly are like - 

"The table PurchTable does not contain the field DataAreaId." (But fields are available while checking from SQL)

or

"Operand types are not compatible with the operator"

Strange part is if I am doing full AOT compilation/ CIL or synchronization, I am not getting such error, but again while compiling any projects or objects, its same.

I am Using AX 2012 R3

Kernal version: 6.3.6000.8144
Application version: 6.3.6000.149

Troubleshooting which I already tried: -

* Full compilation 

* Full CIL

* DB Synchronization

* Restart AOS

* Created a new Instance and restored DB

* Tried uploading License as well.

Please suggest, if you have faces similar issue. and also let me know if anything else required from my side.

    Want kind of change do you made to table InventTable?

    could you open the table method: inventable\Methods\LookupItemidDefaultOrderType Line 33 and check which code has error and then try to fix?

    Or you can try to delete all the data from table InventTable in SQL server and then CIL/sync the table, and then have a try.

    Importing a project from DEV is basically the same thing as developing in production.

    The correct process must include testing in a test environment and deploying the whole tested application (ideally by moving the modelstore).

    Your current process is creating a new untested version in production. And I suspect you're doing it when the production environment is live, which may have runtime conseuences even if your changes are flawless. For example, different AOS servers may execute different code and the AOS may become temporarily unavailable.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

    Actually we are not developing anything in Production, we always either move objects or Model from DEV/ UAT environment.

    And we were facing this issue in one of the AOS server due to missing installed components.

    Client had redirected AX configuration to different AOS without intimation.

    It's working fine now.

    Oh, are you saying that you're developing in production? And compiling code on one of six AOS servers running at the same time?Then you're indeed asking for a huge amount of problems!

    My recommendation is that you should immediately stop that, before you do even more harm, and review your development and deployment processes. If you're not familiar with it, please make sure you read Deploying Customizations Across Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Environments.

    Thanks for your quick reply.

    Everything was working smooth. This Instance(AOS) is running from more than a year.  

    Wanted to add few more details: -

    This issue we are facing on Client's location.

    They have 5-6 AOS connected with Clustered SQL DB.

    once we started getting this issue, I have created a separate VM, installed a new AOS and SQL and restored the same Prod DB(Dynamics AX Transaction DB and Model DB) to this VM.

    There is nothing changed recently.

    can development license be the issue?

    Can you give us some context, please?

    For example, did it worked before in this environment, or is it a newly installed one that never worked correctly? If it worked before, what has changed? Didn't you restore the database, for example?

    What exactly do you mean by "Created a new Instance and restored DB"?
