NAV 2016 RTC Running Slow on RDS 2012 R2

Hi,

We seem to have an issue since day one (about a year now) with NAV 2016 (now on CU22) running slow throughout the day for some users to the point it takes 15 seconds to respond to requests. The user then restarts NAV and all is back to normal. The user did not log off then log back on to the RDS server it was still in the same session.

None of the other programs on their RDS session are affected (i.e. office products, browsers etc).

We thought it may have been hardware so we installed a brand new Hyper-V server with one VM (RDS Server). The VM has been allocated with the below resources;

CPU - 2 x 4 core Xeon 2.4GHz

RAM - 132GB

The number of users logged on are 55.

Users with PC's that are domain connected never experience this issue. It only seems to be users connected to the RDS environment.

    When NAV stopps responding for a period of time, is there anything I can check in the background or analyse what is happening at that point in time? Are there any NAV tools we can run?

    We have allocated all resources and priority for the VM and it's the only VM on the server running at the moment. We were running this VM on another physical host thinking it was hardware but the same problem was happening now on the dedicated host running the RDS VM.

    It seems when users are posting a lot of transactions throughout the day, it gradually gets slower and slower. Once the RTC is closed and reopenend (without the user logging off), it runs normal again? No other application is experiencing performance issues in the background (i.e. outlook, word, excel, publisher,chrome).

    Try rising the priority of access to hard drive in the VM settings
