Dynamics AX Windows Store Apps install on demo VM ?

Hello,

I am surprised to see the Expense, timesheet and approval "apps" (http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/fr-fr/app/dynamics-ax-2012-timesheets/2ac31b2e-f3fa-4f1c-bfb9-151393749246) are not installed by default on the latest AX 2012 r3 demo machine released by Microsoft.

So I tried to install them myself, but when I try to access the Windows Store with the default Admin account, I get the "Store can't be opened using the Built-in Administrator account" error.

Has anyone found a workaround for this ?

Thanks

    Hi Antoine,

I have used the VM deployed with Lifecycle services in Azure. This machine has the Apps installed. You have to do some setup to get it working with the demo data. I'm not sure if the apps are in the machine which is available on customersource and partnersource.

In my blog you can read there is a document how to do setup the Azure bus connection. www.kaya-consulting.com/.../updates-on-the-ax-2012-solution-demo-pages

If you have the connection, you could use any other device to install the apps, so it is not really needed to have the apps installed in the VM.

Thanks, but I would find it much more comfortable and "portable" to have it all installed on the VM.

Let's see if someone else knows about this, thanks anyway.

    Hi Antoine,

Try to open the VM with user credentials 'contoso\ANNIE' or 'contoso\CLAIRE'. This users have the apps installed on my VM machine. But again I'm using the VM deployed from Lifecycle services. The administrator does not have the apps installed.

If you would like to integrate with the AX 2012 demo data rather than using the app in demo mode, you have to setup an Azure service bus and also install and setup some other component like ADFS.
