How to reconcile absence hours and timesheet hours in AX 2012.

Hi all,

I am trying to setup timesheets for employees in our company using ax 2012.

I want to configure functionality where the if the user has entered an absence for a day in previous week, the user should not be able to enter timesheet hours against that day for other task.

Please let me know how can I achieve this.

In our current system a user can enter only 8 hours/day and any absence is entered in the same window as regular timesheet hours except that the task for absence hours are identified as timeoff.

Thanks

Amrendra

    Hi Amrendra,

I am not sure whether this can be achieved in Standard AX without making an adjustment. Probably have a look at the following Whitepaper that gives you additional insights www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    Hope this helps,

    Ludwig

    Hi Amrendra,

At a customer we used conditions in the workflow to define the maximum hours per day. When the hours were exceeded the timesheet was returned to the worker. At least we changed the timesheet document query to have the Timesheet line week details available for the conditions.

    Hi Andre,

Thanks a lot. Your suggestion gave me a new idea how I could possibly handle this. I have not created separate categories for different timesheet entries and associated with project.

I now need to extract timesheet hours which are sum total for each user for the given time period for different categories.

Name                             Regular    Sick    Holiday     TimeOff   Vacation

    Person1                             40         0         0                0              0

    Person2                             16         16       8                0              0

I have created an SSRS report to achieve this but I am unable to get the grouping correct.

Please let me know if you have any ideas on how it can be done. I used this expression to filter values in different columns for category types.=iif(Fields!CategoryId.Value="Regular", Fields!Hours.Value,0)

    I really appreciate your help.

    Hi Amrendra,

I'm not a SSRS developer. Did you create a data provider class? Then you can build up a temporary table using groupings and use this temporary table on the SSRS report.

    hi Andre,

Thanks a lot for giving me the right direction. I have successfully created the report using data provider class.

    Thank You
