    HI,

You can not add Mobile Form on Model Driven App. Model Driven app only supports Main type form.

I think same form is being display when you open the form from Mobile app.

One workaround is to write Javascript code to check the client and if client is Mobile then disable the field.

    Hi CoSonate,

Are you talking about the Account-Mobile Main form, that is available in Dynamics 365 Field Service? Nevertheless, the description below should work also for other custom model driven apps and forms.

As far as I can see, the Account-Mobile form is already available in the Model Driven App and when you are on the Account, Account is the primary form and Account-Mobile can be selected by the drop down:

But to be able to see the form, switch to make.powerapps.com, open the Account table, Forms tab, select the Account-mobile form and click on Form settings in the command bar.

By default the Account-mobile form is only available for a specific security role, so all other users with different Security Roles than Field Service - Resource will not see the mobile form.

    1) You can define different main forms and e.g. make fields on one form read only, and on the other form editable, or e.g. use a different layout for mobile.

    2) In "Form Settings" you can define for each form, which "Security roles" should be able to see / access the form, and you can also define on "Form order" which form is the primary and in which order additional forms will be shown.

    3)  You can create more than one Model Driven App and you can assign specific forms to each app. In make.powerapps.com - Apps, select an App and click on Edit - Edit in Preview (you can also use the classic app editor)

    4) In the App Editor navigate to Pages - Account - Account form and in the sidebar select Manage forms

    pastedimage1646347701694v6.png

For each App you can then decide, which form or view should be used.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Joergen

OK - great. So you have the form already. Let's look at the editable part.

    1) You must ensure, that the user has the right permissions assigned in the security role, e.g. create and update rights for the records in this table. Also ownership of the record could be a topic, e.g. is the user allowed to update only records where he is the owner.

    2) On each form you can define separately, if a filed is "Read-only" or not.
Open make.powerapps.com and navigate to the form that you need to edit. Select the fields and validate that the fields are not marked as Read-only

    3) Verify that the record that you are trying to edit is in active state. Inactive records are read-only.

If this and the above solution have been helpful, please mark them as verified answer.

I am confused as how will I have a different form on CRM side and mobile side. Till now I could only change the default form that was Account Main form on both sides. But the solution that you provided didn't solve the problem on CRM side. I want it to be editable and the same form should be read only on Mobile.

RE: How can I add Account-Mobile form in model driven apps??

    HI,
Did not want to confuse you.

In previous versions of Dynamics 365 without Unified Interface you could differentiate between Web Client and Mobile Client easier and set the mobile form to be read only in Unified Client, which has been used on mobile clients. This setting can still be activated in the advanced settings - classic editor on entity level - see screenshot below:

    pastedimage1646406558876v1.png

But - when you activate this setting now - where the web client has been changed to using Unified Interface, this will result in read only access to the form in the web client as well.
So if you are currently limited in the web and cannot edit the records - then check if this setting is activated.

One possibility to have an editable web form and a read-only mobile form would be to have to different model driven apps, and e.g. use a copy of the web form in the mobile app and e.g. set all fields to read-only on this form.

By having two different apps, you can also define which tables should be used e.g. in the mobile app and also change the layout of the forms for better mobile usabililty.
