Hi All
Could anyone pls suggest me how to integrate barcode readers in NAV. I intend to use it in sales orders / Invoices and I want to map the Item No field. Also pls advise me if we could use it with BE version of NAV.

First, you have to fill Cross Reference table for all your items with Bar Code Type.
Second is to make application for bar code readers. You can make on-line application if you have readers with e.g. Windows Mobile, using web services.
When you make it, when you scan some bar code, this will be automatic filled as item in your documents.
Hi, integrating the barcode readers in NAV to scan and decode barcode data and barcode font is always the difficlty to me, I will check out the guides and give you the feedback, thank you!

Thanks very much for your responses. I intend to use it for a retail application and they want to track the items at the check out (Sales Order / Invoice). All item details from the master should be picked once the brcode is scanned. Is there any setup to be dont to link the barcodes with the item no. pls suggest. thanks.
You can also use Barcode fonts. Change the font property on the report to "say for example" BarcodeFont3of9.
then all you have to do is change the sourceexp to "*"+"Order No."+"*"
Adding Asterisks at the beginning & end of a field makes the 3of9 work.
