Fixed Asset Journal Offset Account

Dynamics 365:

When posting fixed asset journals (acquisition and disposal), the Offset Account value is not being pulled from the Fixes Asset Posting Profiles (I have these set up).

Depreciation pulls the offset as it should but this is because it's done through the proposal.

You could argue to post all the journals through a proposal but I have a customer without a previous accounting system (yes, running all in manual books and spreadsheets) and posting via proposals is going to confuse them.

Also: I have tested this in the AX 2012 and I just posted a journal and offset account was there straight away from the posting profiles - no extra setup needed.

Is there something new in AX7 I don't know about or it may be a bug?

RE: Fixed Asset Journal Offset Account

    Hello,

    There could be few culprits.

    Things to check:

    - are Fixed Asset Posting profiles are properly set up?

    - are the GL Main Accounts in the Accounts Structures which Fixed Asset are using ?

    - are Fixed Asset groups linked with Books

It is all working well now.

    Hi gulammusthafa2013,

Rather than responding to various older posts, is it possible to create a new thread where you include all your issues?

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Ludwig

    If the above fails:

Make sure your Account Structure is correct. AX Sometimes does not give any errors.

    It simply does not run.

Last time my Tangible Fixed Asset Depreciation main account was in a wrong place and and the offset in the Deprnt Jnl  never picked up the account.
