Financial dimension hierarchies not working in AX 2012

I am trying to set up a financial dimension hierarchy for a client based on an organizational hierarchy that is set up as legal entity > Business Unit >Cost Center.

The client has multiple legal entities.

I have followed the steps in this blog post

community.dynamics.com/.../financial-dimensions-hierarchies-taking-advantage-of-organization-hierarchies-in-microsoft-dynamics-ax-2012-continued.aspx

but for some reason I can not get the cost center part of the hierarchy to work when I enter the account in a journal. So the business unit will be shown based on the company I am working in, but the cost center segment will not show any values.

Has anyone experienced this problem before and have a solution?

Thank you,

Phil

So I am now able to get the business unit and cost center relationship working correctly, but I am still unable to have the business units correctly associate with their parent legal entity.

So while I might have 2 legal entities each with two distinct business units, I can select any of the four business units when I key an journal entry. Any ideas on what I can do to limit the business unit values to only the company I am working in?

    Thank you again,

    Phil

Have you activated the draft version of the account structure? Because it may still be picking up the older changes.

    Hi Andre,

I have tried multiple hierarchy set ups; ranging from multiple legal entities that were underneath on consolidation legal entity to one legal entity with one business unit and one cost center under the business unit.

In each case, it seems like the business unit dimension is working and correctly associated with the legal entity it is under (by working I mean that it is correctly associated in journals), but the cost cents will not show up at all in journals.

I believe that the relationship on the account structure was set up correctly. I selected the relationship where A = business unit and B= Cost center. Is this correct?

    Thank you,

    Phil

    Hi Phil,

Can you share some of your setup you have done? You talk about multiple legal entities. Did you create all setup in one organization hierarchy or did you create multiple?

Can you also indicate if the setup of relationships on the account structures was setup OK?

Note that the organization hierarchies are date effective. So if you changed something the posting date on the journal will detemine which version is active.
