Shopify connector - how to transfer a data field?

I have a data field (next expected product replenishment date) on my item cards in Business Central. I want to transfer that to Shopify so I can put that information in front of my customers. Currently, all of our marketing text is owned by Shopify as the editing tools are better.

So far, the only solution I've come up with has been to add it as an attribute and then push that to Shopify where it gets tacked on to the end of the Shopify Description field. I could then use Liquid to fold, spindle and mutilate the text and display it in a more attractive fashion.

Does anyone have any better ideas? Any word on if Shopify/Microsoft will be mapping attributes to metafields in the future, which would be a much more logical solution?
