Can the 'Fiscal year' name in Ledger calendars contain both numeric and alpha characters?
For example, if a company already has a 'Fiscal year' named '2024', would it cause any issues to create a 'Fiscal year' named '2024 Cal'? The system did not throw an error when using alpha and numeric characters in creating a new year in a test environment, but we aren't sure if there would be any unintended consequences down the line. Traditionally only numeric values have been used by the company.
As Andre and Ammad said, you can rest assured that your approach is feasible and will not impact the system or user experience. You can refer to this official document, which explains how to create fiscal calendars and the corresponding page navigation: Create fiscal calendars, years and periods - Training | Microsoft Learn.
Yes, the Fiscal year field can contain both alpha and numeric characters. There is no functional side effect when you do so.
