XML transform Document - extra characters created

Hi all,
I have created an XSL transform for a new third party warehouse and the document that is created looks great in notepad, explorer, word pad etc.  But when the warehouse tries to receive this into their system they get an error.  If they use debug to look at the file it has additional characters in the first position of the file.  These unprintable characters are causing the error.  I have had a similar problem once when creating flat text files but there I had control of the file create and changed it from a textIO to an asciiIO which solved the problem.  Any ideas for the XML transform?

    Hi,

    Most probably these symbols are "byte order mark". The easiest way to remove BOM is to "play" with the encoding in your XSLT:

    <xsl:output omit-xml-declaration="yes" indent="yes" encoding="iso-8859-1"/>
....
<xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes">&lt;?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?&gt;</xsl:text>
