The ledger account is incorrectly populated. These are automated transactions. somehow one line got posted without the dimension. Unsure how to correct that and also not sure how this transaction got impacted.

Has anyone changed the account structure? If so you need to reverse the reverse and then change the account structure and reverse and then correct the account structure.

The accounting structure hasn't changed. With the same voucher and journal number, there are two transactions (last two on the second screenshot). Only one of them got impacted. however, both are two different products. As of now, everything is similar for both the products. still working on to trace the difference for these two.

Correct the Dimension on the Existing Entry:

In Dynamics, posted transactions can't be directly modified, but you can often use a correction journal or reversal. Create a reversing journal entry that zeroes out the transaction in question, and then re-enter the transaction with the correct dimension values.

If your setup includes financial dimensions as part of validation rules, check if you can adjust those to prevent such omissions in the future.

Troubleshoot How This Occurred:

Investigate the transaction's source to see if there’s an automated process or custom workflow that might have bypassed dimension requirements.

Check if any modifications to posting logic (customizations or workflows) could have been temporarily inactive or overridden. Also, review batch jobs or any automation scripts that handle this type of transaction.

@Andre, there are default setup done.

The issue is identified. in the past, we didn't have the default setup and that is when this product was sourced and was sitting idle. now in 2024, when we tried to move the product, it pulled up the incorrect dimension from the history.

The proposed solution that I am trying is to reverse the entire set of transaction and repost the flow as a manual transaction.

As far as I know, but I might be wrong, is that you can't reverse postings related to moving average. In this case, you would need to make correcting entries only by using a general journal. Note that if you enable manual postings on account 592000, reconciliation reports might show manual postings and think there will be a difference.

Test a correction posting in a non-production environment first.
