SqlDictionary entries with SQLNAME = <source table>

A lot of entries in SqlDictionary table with field SQLNAME = <source table>.

Field STRSIZE seems to hold the old value of FIELDID?

However, just checked some fields and it seems, that these are all entries of fields, which have been deleted in AOT some time ago (R2 upgrade, whatever).

1.) Why don't they get deleted by Synch?

There are no errors on Synch btw.

2.) Could this be a problem?

I suppose no, just waste?

3.) Solution?

Just delete these entries from SqlDictionary?

Greetings,

Rene

    Hi Rene

The SqlDictionary Table is updated everytime you modify a table\field in AOT.

The Synchronization process read this table and update SQL Table structure.

I think could be a side effect of the R2 upgrade or something like that.

You can delete without issues this records from SqlDictionary Table.

    Hi Rene,

This is very important and critical table in Dynamics AX.. this table stores details about Tables and its fields

This table is very much required when new table and its fields are created,

when we do export and Import the table object.

This table store Tables and its fields Object IDs as per Different layers in Dynamics AX

So we should not consider deleting data in this table.

Yep, it's for mapping between AX view/table/field IDs and SQL real names.

But as for a lot of other things in AX, there is no real technical documentation.

I think the mentioned entries are just waste, but WHO really knows whats going on in the black AX box? :)
