Defining Height / Width / Length on order

Hi,

I am looking to change the way that we stock and order our raw materials and would like to know if it is possible to define the dimensions at point of order. As an example we order a certain type of metal and at the moment we have to create different item numbers and description depending on the size of billet. This mean we have a lot of items for the same material.

I would ideally like to end up with have a single item number that is the material type and then be able to specify the billet details on the purchase order. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for any help

    Hi,

Have you considered using a variant for that configuration of the material? You would still have the same core material number and could consume in a uniform way, but transact it at the variant level. This may be a workable solution for you.
