MRP Planned Order Production Order XXXXXXXX could not be scheduled. Not enough capacity found

Maybe someone can point us at the underlying problem.

We do infinite capacity on all our shop floor orders and have not had a problem in years. Out of the blue on one item planned orders generated the message in the title after March 6, 2020.

We looked at all the suggestions on resources and resource groups and turned off all of the capacity limits in workcenter parameters.

The error still occurred on this one workcenter/item. Not high quantity, no much labor.

Our workaround was to give it a different workcenter. Many other items use the old workcenter without a problem.

My guess is there a stuck bad record in a table that is confusing MRP.

Anyone have experience with this and a solution other than copying the workcenter and using the new one.

Debugging is about impossible due to the kernel code and recid to recid to recid on tables.

I have the same question (1)

    Hello Konrad,

Are both operations scheduling and job scheduling enabled on the resource required for the operation?  We have seen this error when MRP is using say job scheduling and only operations scheduling is enabled on the Resource requirements tab.

No we always use job scheduling.

Yes it is open and shared by many many items.  This is the only item and at least we have a work around by giving it a different work center. Something in the overly normalized data got corrupted that references the work center/ item. Strangely enough it started the weekend we did a recompile of production to fix another bizarre problem with a method  not found error that would pop up in printing invoices.

    Thanks

    Konrad
