While I appreciate this workaround, all of my users now need to do this every time they attempt to open a spreadsheet in Excel from Dynamics.
Do we have an understanding of what's causing this and how to return to the configuration where spreadsheets will open automatically?

    This workaround worked for me.

    Select log off in addon.
Popup-window asking account to log of. Choose your account and close popup-window

Press "Log on". A brief popup-windows appears and closes.

Press "Log on" again and now popup-window asks for account. Select you account.

    Now it works.
